Educational Leader

  • Permanent Part-Time opportunity (32 hours per week)
  • Salary will be paid in accordance with the EEEA 2020, plus superannuation and applicable government incentives

  • Play a key leadership role within Council’s kindergarten services

 

As Educational Leader, you’ll provide educational leadership, mentoring and operational support across Council’s kindergarten services while helping create safe, inclusive and engaging learning environments for children and families.

Key aspects of the role:

  • Lead high-quality kindergarten programs and educational practice
    Guide the planning, delivery and evaluation of engaging kindergarten programs that support children’s learning, development, wellbeing and inclusion. Provide educational leadership and mentoring to teachers, educators, students and volunteers to strengthen reflective practice, program quality and positive outcomes for children and families.

  • Coordinate daily service operations and compliance
    Oversee day-to-day kindergarten operations including staffing, routines, resources, program delivery and service coordination to ensure services operate smoothly, safely and effectively. Support compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, the National Quality Framework and Council requirements while contributing to continuous improvement and safe learning environments.

  • Build strong relationships with families and community partners
    Work collaboratively with families, schools, specialist services and community organisations to support inclusive practice, effective communication and positive transition outcomes for children. Strong partnerships and family engagement help create a connected, supportive and child-focused service environment.

  • Support documentation, planning and continuous improvement
    Maintain accurate child records, learning documentation, attendance information and operational reporting in line with legislative and organisational requirements. Contribute to service planning, quality improvement initiatives, professional development activities and ongoing enhancement of educational and operational practices.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood).
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development, learning frameworks and curriculum planning.
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and National Quality Framework.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing operational and educational priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to support inclusive practice and positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.
  • Current Working with Children Check, First Aid, CPR and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
