- $51.42 per hour + superannuation
- Work on diverse and meaningful capital works projects
Play a key role in delivering infrastructure projects that support Wodonga’s growth, liveability and long-term community outcomes. As Senior Project Manager, you’ll lead complex capital works projects from planning and procurement through to construction, commissioning and handover.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project professional to combine technical knowledge, stakeholder engagement and strong project governance to deliver high-quality infrastructure outcomes across the municipality.
Key aspects of the role:
- Manage infrastructure projects from planning through to construction
Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of capital works projects across roads, drainage, buildings and other Council infrastructure assets. Work across all stages of the project lifecycle including planning, design reviews, procurement, contractor coordination, construction activities and final handover.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants and site activities
Work closely with contractors, consultants and project stakeholders to keep projects progressing on schedule and within scope. Attend site meetings and inspections, respond to project issues, review works on site and help coordinate solutions to support safe and efficient project delivery.
- Prepare project documentation and manage procurement processes
Develop specifications, scopes of works, tender documentation and project reports to support compliant procurement and contract administration activities. Monitor contractor performance, review variations and maintain accurate project records and reporting throughout delivery.
- Monitor budgets, timelines and project risks
Track project budgets, schedules and delivery milestones while identifying and managing risks, delays and operational challenges. Provide regular updates to stakeholders and contribute to decision-making to help keep projects on track and aligned with Council priorities.
- Build relationships and support project outcomes across Council
Collaborate with internal departments, service authorities and community stakeholders to support communication, project coordination and positive community outcomes. Provide practical project management advice and contribute to continuous improvement across Council’s project delivery practices.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience managing infrastructure or capital works projects from planning through to delivery, with the ability to balance budgets, timelines, quality and stakeholder expectations.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, including experience using project management systems, reporting tools and delivery frameworks.
- Ability to build positive working relationships and communicate effectively with contractors, consultants, community members and internal stakeholders.
- Well-developed problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond to project challenges.
- Experience preparing project documentation, reports and recommendations to support informed decision-making and project governance.
- A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a positive team culture.
