Team Leader Information Management 

  • Full-Time permanent position
  • $59.39 per hour + superannuation
  • Strategic leadership opportunity within information governance and digital services

 

Play a key role in shaping and strengthening Wodonga Council’s information governance, digital capability and organisational compliance. As Team Leader Information Management, you’ll lead Council’s Information Management function, driving best-practice records management, information governance, data stewardship and continuous improvement across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine your leadership, strategic thinking and information governance expertise to modernise systems, improve organisational capability and support transparent, compliant and efficient service delivery across Council.

 

Key aspects of the role:

  • Lead enterprise information management and it’s governance
    Provide strategic leadership of Council’s Information Management function, ensuring corporate information assets are governed, protected and accessible. Drive a consistent, organisation-wide approach to records management, information governance and digital information practices that support accountability, compliance and informed decision-making.

  • Drive strategic improvement and innovation
    Lead the development and continuous improvement of Council’s Information Management Strategy, frameworks and systems. Identify opportunities to modernise processes, optimise digital capability and implement emerging technologies that improve efficiency, accessibility and service delivery outcomes.

  • Strengthen compliance and information security
    Oversee compliance with legislative and regulatory obligations relating to records management, privacy, freedom of information and data security. Coordinate Council’s Protective Data Security obligations and help ensure information risks are proactively managed across the organisation.

  • Partner with leaders across Council
    Work closely with leaders, business units and technical teams to embed best-practice information management principles into operational processes, systems and projects. Provide trusted specialist advice, influence organisational improvement and build strong collaborative relationships across Council.

  • Lead and develop the Information Management team
    Provide leadership, coaching and support to the Information Management team to foster a collaborative, high-performing and customer-focused environment. Guide staff through change, build organisational capability and ensure services are delivered efficiently and professionally.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience leading information management, records management or digital governance functions within a complex or regulated environment
  • Demonstrated ability to translate an information management strategy into delivered outcomes, using innovative information management solutions to improve usability, compliance and organisational performance
  • Strong knowledge of information governance frameworks, legislative compliance and records management practices
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across technical and operational teams
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in information management, information systems, information technology or a related discipline
