Procurement Business Partner

  • Full-time temporary opportunity (9-month contract)
  • $39.17 per hour + superannuation

Play a key role in supporting compliant, efficient and value-driven procurement outcomes across Wodonga Council. As Procurement Business Partner, you’ll work closely with teams across the organisation to coordinate procurement activities, manage contracts and supplier relationships, and support best-practice purchasing processes that deliver strong community outcomes.

Key aspects of the role:

  • Lead procurement and tender coordination
    Coordinate end-to-end procurement activities including quotations, tenders, specifications and contract documentation. You’ll help ensure procurement processes are compliant, efficient and aligned with legislative and Council requirements while supporting the timely delivery of projects and services.

  • Support contract and supplier management
    Maintain and monitor Council’s contract register and preferred supplier arrangements to ensure accurate records, compliance tracking and effective supplier performance management. You’ll also assist in building positive supplier relationships that support value for money and strong service delivery outcomes.

  • Provide procurement advice and support
    Work closely with staff across the organisation to provide practical procurement guidance and support. You’ll help build understanding of procurement processes, policies and best practice requirements to ensure consistent and compliant purchasing activities across Council.

  • Improve systems and processes
    Identify opportunities to improve procurement systems, templates and workflows to support more efficient and effective operations. You’ll contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen governance, reduce risk and enhance the user experience for internal stakeholders.

  • Build capability across the organisation
    Support internal procurement capability by assisting with the development of training resources, procedures and guidance materials. You’ll help promote a culture of accountability, transparency and best-practice procurement across Council.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in procurement, contract administration, purchasing or a related field
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Well-developed communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and legislative requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
  • Experience using procurement, finance or document management systems
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience in procurement, business, project management, law or a related discipline desirable
