  • Full Time – Permanent position
  • $34.69 per hour + superannuation

Join Wodonga Council as a Water Truck Operator and play a key role in maintaining the health and sustainability of our urban tree network. Working as part of our Arboriculture team, this hands-on role combines outdoor work, plant operation and teamwork to deliver essential services that support our growing city.

Key aspects of the role

  • Tree maintenance and urban forest support
Undertake a range of arboriculture activities including pruning, removals and general tree maintenance to support the health, safety and presentation of Council’s urban forest. You’ll also assist with wire clearance works under the direction of the Arborist Supervisor, contributing to safe and compliant tree management across the municipality.

  • Watering, planting and tree establishment
Support tree establishment programs through watering, planting and early-stage maintenance. You’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring newly planted trees are well maintained, helping maximise survival rates and contribute to the long-term sustainability of Wodonga’s natural environment.

  • Plant and equipment operation
Operate and maintain a variety of plant and equipment including water trucks, wood-chippers, chainsaws and small tools. You’ll complete pre-start checks, identify and report faults, and ensure all equipment is used safely and in accordance with manufacturer and Council requirements.

  • Teamwork, safety and service delivery
Work collaboratively with the arboriculture team to deliver daily work programs, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and customer service. You’ll contribute to safe work practices including hazard identification, traffic control and PPE use, while responding to service requests and interacting professionally with the community.
