Technical Officer – The Cube Wodonga
- Part-time (20 hours per week)
- $36.73 per hour + superannuation
- Flexible roster including evenings & weekends
Wodonga City Council is seeking a Technical Officer to join the team at The Cube Wodonga, one of the region’s premier performing arts and event venues. This is a hands-on, practical role ideal for someone who enjoys working in live environments, supporting artists, clients and the community to deliver exceptional events — safely and professionally.
Key aspects of the role:
- Event and performance delivery
You’ll play a hands-on role in bringing events and performances to life at The Cube. This includes setting up and packing down performance spaces to suit a wide range of uses — from theatre and live music to conferences, exhibitions and community events. You’ll assist with bump-in and bump-out, support visiting performers and hirers on the day, and help troubleshoot issues as they arise to ensure events run smoothly, safely and on schedule.
- Technical operations & AV support
On a typical shift, you’ll assist with the setup, operation and pack-down of lighting, live audio and audio-visual systems, including projection, signal distribution and cable management. Working under the guidance of the Technical Coordinator, you’ll help operate and reset specialised venue infrastructure such as retractable seating, pit lids and staging systems, ensuring all technical setups align with venue standards and performance requirements.
- Venue presentation & documentation
You’ll help maintain the professional presentation and safe operation of the venue by assisting with general housekeeping, basic maintenance tasks (where safe and appropriate), and room resets between events. You’ll also complete required documentation such as checklists, logs and reports to record work undertaken, support compliance and ensure consistency across events and venue operations.
What we’re looking for:
You’re practical, reliable and calm under pressure, with a genuine interest in live events and venue operations. You enjoy working as part of a team, can follow technical direction, and take safety seriously — even in fast-paced or high-pressure environments.
