$36.73 hour + casual loading and superannuation.

The Opportunities:
1: Multicultural Storytime – Vietnamese Language
This opportunity focuses on the development and delivery of Storytime sessions in Vietnamese, supporting early literacy, connection and engagement with Vietnamese-speaking families.
You’ll use storytelling, songs and activities to create a warm and inclusive environment for children and caregivers, while also contributing to broader multicultural and library programs.
Vietnamese language capability is essential for this opportunity.
2: Homework Help Program
This opportunity focuses on the delivery of the Homework Help program, supporting school-aged children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds with learning, confidence and connection.
You’ll work alongside families, schools and community groups to provide a supportive, safe and engaging learning environment that encourages participation and positive educational outcomes.
We recognise that some applicants may bring the skills, experience and language capability to contribute across both Storytime and Homework Help, in addition to other multicultural and outreach programs.
We strongly encourage applicants who can deliver across both focus areas to apply.
Regardless of which opportunity you apply for, the role also includes:
- Delivering multicultural and outreach programs as part of the Hyphen team
- Building strong relationships with community members, schools and early learning services
- Supporting the curation and maintenance of library collections
- Providing a friendly, welcoming customer experience at Hyphen reception
- Assisting visitors with library services, programs, bookings and general enquiries
- Contributing to continuous improvement and a positive, inclusive service culture

- Experience working with children in an education, community or library setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with culturally diverse communities
- A friendly, reliable and customer-focused approach to work
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage tasks effectively
- Vietnamese language capability is essential for the Storytime opportunity
