Join Wodonga Council’s Executive Leadership Team and lead a high-performing directorate at the forefront of the next stages of the city’s growth and transformation. As Director Infrastructure and Growth, you will drive strategic city land use planning and statutory services, asset management and infrastructure delivery, and city and cultural services.

Key Selection Criteria
Applicants are required to address the following Key Selection Criteria in their application, clearly demonstrating relevant experience, key achievements, and alignment with Wodonga Council’s values and strategic priorities.
- Visionary Leadership
Proven experience providing strategic leadership in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment, fostering a culture of collaboration, integrity, and high performance across teams and services.
- Strategic and Statutory Planning Expertise
Demonstrated expertise in strategic and statutory planning within a local government or public sector context, with a deep understanding of the Victorian Integrated Strategic Planning and Reporting Framework and sound governance principles.
- Financial and Asset Management Acumen
Strong executive-level financial skills, with a track record of managing complex budgets, aligning financial strategy with service outcomes, and ensuring long-term asset and infrastructure sustainability.
- Infrastructure and Growth Leadership
Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure delivery, land use planning, and asset management, with demonstrated success leading initiatives that balance growth, sustainability, and community outcomes.
- Stakeholder and Political Engagement
High-level political and interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships with Councillors, government, industry, and community partners, ensuring alignment between Council strategy, governance, and community priorities.
- Innovation and Transformation
Evidence of leading organisational transformation, digital innovation, or service improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, sustainability, and public value.
- Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in business administration, public administration, planning, or a related discipline, with postgraduate qualifications desirable. Completion of the AICD Company Directors Course or equivalent is preferred.
