The Cube Wodonga is our premier entertainment venue – hosting everything from live performances and exhibitions to community functions and major events. We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable Technical Assistants to help bring these events to life.
Key aspects of the role:
- Event set-up and pack-down
Bring events to life by preparing the venue to meet each hirer’s needs. You’ll set up and pack down furniture, staging, audio-visual equipment and other resources, ensuring everything is safe, functional and ready to go.
- Venue care and maintenance
Take pride in presenting a clean, safe and welcoming venue. From routine housekeeping through to assisting with minor maintenance tasks, you’ll help ensure the Cube is always performance ready.
- Supporting clients and performers
Be the friendly, practical support that makes a difference. You’ll work closely with Council staff, community groups, commercial clients, and performers to make sure events run smoothly, responding to their needs with professionalism and care.
- Safety and compliance
Keep safety at the centre of everything you do. You’ll follow venue procedures, monitor risks, report hazards and contribute to a safe environment for staff, hirers and audiences alike.
- Flexible and varied event work
Enjoy a role where every shift is different. From late-night concerts and weekend performances to exhibitions and civic functions, you’ll play a hands-on part in delivering Wodonga’s diverse calendar of events.

Key Selection Criteria:
Our ideal candidate will be able to show us the following:
- Detail oriented and able to systematically follow instructions in relation to room set up and venue presentation.
- Proactive and motivated nature with the ability to use lateral thinking within the constraints of general duties of the role.
- The ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external stakeholders including commercial and community clients, general public, contractors and other council staff.
- A strong community and customer focus.
- Organisational skills with the ability to manage time and plan own workload.

Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to provide the following.
- A copy of a recent National Police Check (less than 3 months)
- A current driver’s licence
- Any other mandatory requirements outlined in the position description (eg. first aid, CPR, WWCC, forklift).
The completion of a pre-employment functional assessment (paid for by the council) will also be required.
If applicable, evidence regarding right to work in Australia will need to be presented.
