Service Improvement Officer

Wodonga Council is seeking a Service Improvement Officer to lead service reviews, map processes, and drive performance monitoring that aligns with our strategic goals. Collaborating across teams—especially with Information Services—you’ll help shape a culture of innovation, data-informed decision-making, and continuous improvement that makes a real difference.

 

 

 Key Aspects of the Role

 

  •  Drive Continuous Improvement
     Support the delivery of service reviews and business improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and community outcomes.
  •          Collaborate Across Teams
     Work closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to map processes, deliver workshops, and coordinate service planning activities.
  •          Inform Decision-Making
     Gather, analyse, and present performance data and benchmarking insights to support evidence-based decision-making and innovation.
  •          Deliver Strategic Projects
     Contribute to medium to complex projects within council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework, aligned with the Local Government Act 2020.
  •         Champion a Customer-Centric Approach
     Help embed a culture of high-quality, customer-focused service delivery that builds trust and confidence in council operations.

This role will require you to be onsite during working hours.

Key Selection Criteria:  

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, (e.g. continuous improvement, data analytics, project or business management) and demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within a Local Government or comparable complex organisational environment

     

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in project teams and across all levels of the organisation, building trust and strong relationships to support change and achieve sustainable outcomes, ideally with experience in service planning and service review
  • Demonstrated high-level written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information and confidently lead workshops or stakeholder engagements
  • High-quality proficiency in business systems and digital tools, including Microsoft 365 applications including SharePoint and specialised information management systems, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and platforms
  • Proven understanding and experience in applying project management, change management, and continuous improvement methodologies to deliver measurable outcomes

Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to provide the following.

  •          A copy of a recent National Police Check (less than 3 months)
  •          A current driver’s licence
  •          Any other mandatory requirements outlined in the position description (eg. first aid, CPR, WWCC, forklift).

The completion of a pre-employment functional assessment (paid for by the council) might also be required.

If applicable, evidence regarding right to work in Australia will need to be presented.
