The Role
The Road Reserves Permit Officer is responsible for administering and monitoring permits for works within Council Road Reserves, including vehicle crossings and temporary land occupations. The role ensures compliance with Council policies and supports asset protection by working closely with builders, developers, and the community. This position also assists with site inspections, enforcement activities, and education initiatives to promote responsible development and safeguard Council infrastructure.

Key Selection Criteria
Our ideal candidate will be required to provide their own specific examples of the following attributes:
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or qualifications in building, development compliance, or a related field, with a basic understanding of relevant legislation, permits, and orders.
- Ability to interpret plans and conduct site inspections to assess compliance with statutory requirements and refer or action routine matters in accordance with established procedures.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain requirements, provide guidance, and engage cooperatively with a range of stakeholders within a regulatory or compliance environment.
- Sound problem-solving skills, with the ability to follow set procedures, work independently within defined guidelines, and contribute to team objectives while upholding Council values.
