The role

As a Casual Customer Experience Officer, you will be the friendly face and voice of our council, assisting residents and visitors across reception, cashiering and contact centre duties. Your role will be essential in ensuring every customer receives accurate information, timely assistance and a welcoming experience whether in person, over the phone or online.

What You Will Do

  • Provide first-class service by handling customer enquiries efficiently and professionally.
  • Assist with reception duties, greeting visitor's, processing payments and managing administrative task's.
  • Operate the customer service phone line, responding to enquiries and directing calls.
  • Manage online chat and email enquiries to ensure prompt and accurate responses.
  • Ensure all interactions align with our commitment to excellence and community service.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A positive and proactive attitude with a customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in customer service, reception or call centre roles (preferred but not essential).
  • Attention to detail, especially with data entry and financial transaction's.

Applicants will be required to

  • Upload a brief cover letter

Prior to commencement the successful applicant will be required to provide the following.

  • A copy of a recent National Police Check (less than 3 months)
  • A current driver's licence
  • Any other mandatory requirements outlined in the position description (e.g. first aid CPR WWCC forklift).

The completion of a pre employment functional assessment (paid for by the council) might also be required

If applicable evidence regarding right to work in Australia will need to be presented.
