The role
As Team Leader Compliance, you will lead and direct a diverse team in ensuring community adherence to relevant state and local laws. This includes implementing proactive enforcement strategies, conducting targeted interventions, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within your team. You will represent the organisation in legal proceedings, advocating for the community's interests, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and best practices
Key aspects of the role include:
- Lead and manage a team of professionals in effectively responding to all animal and local law complaints.
- Conduct thorough investigations and inspections to determine the validity of complaints.
- Actively pursue the resolution of complaints, including enforcement actions as required.
- Coordinate and provide direction to staff in relation to parking control operations.
- Direct and supervise Assistant MFPOs in responding to fire control complaints and implementing corrective actions to safeguard the community.
- Oversee school crossing coordinator functions to ensure the safety of children.
- Liaise with legal professionals to prepare comprehensive briefs of evidence for prosecution and provide legal guidance and support to Council staff.
Key Selection Criteria
Our ideal candidate will be able to show us the following:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a local government compliance environment.
- Strong team player with a high level of emotional intelligence, critical self-awareness, and sound judgement.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to use initiative, investigate issues, collect and analyze data, and make recommendations on solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and manage a large and diverse team.
