  • Hourly rate starting at $33.90, plus 25% casual loading and superannuation.

The role 

The position will support the Hyphen Programming Team to construct and install exhibitions within Hyphen. The officer will be required to work to a determined deadline and take instructions from Hyphen’s Curator and Team Leader Hyphen. 

  

Key aspects of the role include the following. 

  • Undertake and oversee the installation and dismantle of exhibitions in Hyphen and other council buildings.  
  • Unpack and repack touring exhibitions, from crates and other transport packaging, store and label packaging accordingly.  
  • Install exhibition lighting and projector equipment.  
  • Perform condition reporting in line with touring agreements.  

 

 Key Selection Criteria:  

Our ideal candidate will be able to show us the following. 

  1. Relevant qualifications or experience in installing art work in an exhibition gallery; 
  2. Experience in lighting artworks.  
  3. Experience in AV technology and/or hands on experience with patching and painting walls, general carpentry  
  4. Proven ability to follow instructions and work according to established processes. 
  5. Ability to provide good customer service and ensure the quality of work outputs.

 Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to provide the following. 

  • A copy of a recent National Police Check (less than 3 months) 
  • A current driver’s license 

Any other mandatory requirements outlined in the position description (eg. first aid, CPR, WWCC, forklift). 

The completion of a pre-employment functional assessment (paid for by the council) might  also be required. 

If applicable, evidence regarding right to work in Australia will need to be presented.
