The role 

The Manager Business Services is a leadership role within Wodonga Council and the wider community. This new role will be accountable for driving and delivering a culture of innovation and excellence in business performance by supporting business areas across Council to deliver outcomes in an efficient and effective manner, and according to legislative requirements. 

Key deliverables of the role include: 

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the community, business and government. 
  • The leadership and delivery of the Business Improvement Program.  
  • The development of planning frameworks in alignment with the Council’s legislative planning requirements to enhance the planning capability of the organisation. 
  • Oversee the provision of high-level advice to the Executive team and Councillor group for matters relating to the Local Government Act 2020.

What you will bring (key selection criteria) 

To be successful, you will be strong on relationship management and influencing. Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a business field OR 5+ years of experience working in the business sector at a leadership level. 
  • Significant experience in business improvement and embedding change in a highly regulated environment.  
  • Experience in leading a team that delivers different functional services.  
  • Demonstrated experience in operating at the strategic level across a broad range of organisational functions.
