About the role 

Do you have events, tourism or sales experience and enjoy building relationships?  

 

As the Event Attraction Coordinator you will be responsible for preparing, pitching and securing business events, major external events and event sponsorship for Wodonga Council. This position manages the event attraction funding program and works with community event organisers, providing them with advice, advocacy and encouragement on good event management practices and successful delivery of events.  You will be responsible for working with major event owners to ensure the successful delivery of these events in Wodonga along with the delivery of minor events and special projects.  

 

What you will bring 

With recent experience in events planning and delivery, tourism or sales, you are ready to bring your enthusiasm and go-getter approach to the Tourism & Cultural Services team at Wodonga Council.  

 

Our ideal candidate will be able to show us their: 

  • Experience in and broad knowledge of the events industry, including knowledge of community events development within local communities. 
  • Well-developed verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with relevant stakeholders and provide advice on the development and implementation of events.  
  • The ability to manage your time and priorities to achieve set objectives in an efficient manner. 
  • Ability to research and pitch for major events for the city to host.  
  • Demonstrated ability in developing successful partnerships and long-term relationships. 
  • High level administration skills.
