Building Inspector

The Role 

Strong growth in the building market across Victoria’s North East and NSW combined with changes in building regulations, has created the need for additional staff in Wodonga’s Building Services team. 

This role will add to our team of building inspectors to inspect buildings during construction, alterations and demolitions; and, to assist in the operation of the Building Services team in order to ensure the safety of the public and the best possible service to clients and ratepayers. 

About you 

As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria. 

1.    Tertiary qualification and registration as a building inspector practitioner.

2.    Extensive knowledge of, and proven ability to interpret and enforce, relevant building control legislation.

3.    Strong focus and commitment to delivering high quality customer service and maintain confidentiality at all times.

4.    Advanced verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.

5.    Demonstrated ability to investigate and prepare clear and concise reports on complex building issues.

6.    Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-skilled team environment and work independently out in the field with minimum supervision.

While this role is advertised as full-time, there is the option to negotiate alternative hours and employment arrangements.
