The Role

Wodonga has two community centres that offer a wide range of services to the community. 

The centres support a large variety of community programs, events and activities as well as offering facilities that community groups and businesses can book for use. As such, staff who work with us provide a valuable service to our community creating positive customer experiences.

As one of our Community Centre Officers, you will be a pivotal contact point between the council and our community. You will support the Co-ordinator with the day-to-day operation of the centre, to supervise, encourage and support staff and volunteers, and to make suggestions to the Co-ordinator on changes in operational procedures

You will undertake administration duties to facilitate efficient operations of our facilities and support community centre functions, events and programs.

About you

To be successful in the role you will be a great team player who is quick to develop good relationships, is driven, hardworking, collaborative, solutions-oriented and passionate in delivering quality outcomes for our organisation and community.

You will be dependable, organised, adaptable and have high-level administration and customer service skills. As this role is a combination of hands-on preparation for functions, computer-based administration and a high level of customer service, you'll need to have a flexible work approach as well as strong time management skills.

As the successful candidate, you will also be able to demonstrate the below key selection criteria.

1.    Qualifications or significant experience in community development, customer service or venue management.

2.    Previous experience working with community members and developing programs based on their identified needs.

3.    Proven ability to develop efficient office systems and undertake documentation of procedures.

4.    Well-developed communication skills to engage with the community and prepare external correspondence and reports in field of expertise.

5.    Proactive, organised and efficient nature, with the ability to achieve set objectives within specified timeframes.
