The Role

As the Recreation Assistant you will support the Sport and Recreation team in the planning, management and delivery of services to the community through the use and enhancement of a variety of administration processes and fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You will participate in encouraging community involvement in recreation facilities, programs and services along with providing assistance to the team in the development and delivery of community initiatives, programs and events which encourage physical activity across the community.

As the successful candidate, you will also be able to demonstrate the below key selection criteria.

1.   Sound knowledge and understanding of Sport and Recreation

2.  Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to engage with community and key stakeholders

3. Strong time management skills and your ability to troubleshoot, set priorities and forecast one’s own work schedule

4. Sound knowledge and experience in using council systems (Pathway, bookings management and maintenance entries and requests).
