The Role
The Street Cleansing and Handyperson will contribute to the efficient and effective operation of council’s outdoor operations activities by providing a high level of cleaning and maintenance support to roads and parks infrastructure, ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents, visitors and staff.
In this role you will be required to efficiently and effectively operate and maintain items of plant relative to the position, including the council’s street sweeper. You will also be required to carry out other allocated tasks to specified standards to meet customer needs.
The role is also accountable for the quality, quantity and timeliness of the work performed and for the care of plant, equipment and materials entrusted to the position.
Salary Package
$62,952 per annum plus superannuation
About you

You will also be able to demonstrate the following.
- Certificate II or III in Asset Maintenance (Cleaning Operations) or combination of relevant experience and or education
- Good written and verbal communication skills to communicate with clients, members of the public, and other employees, and enable the resolution of minor problems
- Ability to gain co-operation and assistance from clients, the public and other employees in the administration of well-defined activities, and employees in the supervision of these employees
- Ability to prepare routine correspondence and write reports in field of expertise as required
- Relevant mechanical and technical skills and knowledge enabling the safe and competent operation of various items of plant
The successful applicant will be required to provide a copy of a current (within the past three months) National Police Check and Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
